The Bormann Family
The Bormann Family proudly calls North Carolina home, having arrived in the state in 2006 as part of a lifelong commitment to service. AJ, a retired United States Marine Corps Officer, dedicated 20 years to his country in a variety of roles—including helicopter pilot, public affairs officer, civil affairs officer, and commanding officer. His service instilled in him a deep sense of leadership, purpose, and community.
In 2018, while living in Eastern North Carolina, the Bormann’s experienced the devastating effects of Hurricane Florence firsthand. Though their personal losses were minimal, the displacement and destruction surrounding them left a lasting impression. Witnessing neighbors and communities struggle to rebuild sparked a desire to one day be part of the solution.
Following AJ’s retirement from military service in 2023, that mission became clear: to give back to the community that supported his family for nearly two decades. This vision gave rise to Mill Creek Development Group, a partnership forged with a seasoned contractor bringing over 20 years of expertise in custom home building and disaster recovery construction.

The Watson Family
The Watson Family has deep roots in coastal North Carolina, having proudly called the Wilmington and Hampstead area home for more than 25 years. Their long-standing connection to the community has shaped both their personal values and professional commitment to building in a way that strengthens the region they know so well.
Wayne Watson brings over two decades of experience in the construction industry, with a career spanning residential, commercial, and disaster-relief projects across North Carolina. From building homes throughout Eastern North Carolina to delivering complex commercial and residential projects in Raleigh. Wayne’s work reflects both technical excellence and a hands-on passion for building. Operating under his own North Carolina General Contractor’s license for more than 20 years, he has also led and supported high-profile, highly complex projects during his career as a Nuclear Technician — experience that demands precision, accountability, and disciplined execution.
Driven by a genuine passion for construction and a strong commitment to the people and communities he serves, Wayne was a founding force behind the creation of Mill Creek Development Group. Today, the Watson Family plays a central role in the company’s operational leadership, guiding its growth with experience, integrity, and an unwavering focus on quality craftsmanship and long-term success.
